Lisa Appignanesi tells us all about love
Novelist, writer and broadcaster. Her latest novel is The Memory Man (2004). She is the co-author of Freud's Women (1992, with John Forrester) and editor of Free Expression is No Offence (2005). Appignanesi was educated at McGill University, the Sorbonne, and the University of Sussex, and has taught at the Universities of Essex and Sussex, and at New England College.
Throughout the 1980s Appignanesi was Director of talks and seminars at London's Institute of Contemporary Arts, before leaving in 1990 to concentrate on her writing career. As well as writing fiction and non-fiction, she has contributed to the Guardian, the Observer, and the Daily Telegraph, and was president of English PEN.
