Frances Osborne on scandal and seduction in the 1920s

Frances Osborne recounts the rollicking story of her great-grandmother, the wild and beautiful Idina Sackville who scandalised British society in the 1920s. She was the high priestess of Happy Valley in Kenya and contravened every social convention to become the inspiration for Nancy Mitford's character, the Bolter. Frances' own family kept their connection to this infamous woman a secret and she only discovered it by accident.
